Today marks the beginning of a new Chinese Newspaper being circulated among the Asian American communities in the Greater Philadelphia region. The Metro Chinese Weekly published its first of many editions just nine days before the Chinese New Year and after two months of intense preparations.
The Metro Chinese Weekly offers community news, finance, legal, small business, health, dining, real estate, lifestyle, and English learning sections to the readers. The Philadelphia Housing Authority, Wilkie Lexus, and DeSimone BMW also signed on to the newspaper as three major clients to help make the first issue successful along with a number of other Asian owned stores and businesses.
Dan Tsao, President of New Mainstream Press, personally visited several banquets in Chinatown to hand-deliver the first copies of the Metro Chinese Weekly. Dan says, “Even though it took two months to prepare the very first issue, I realize that it is still easy to prepare the first publication, but will be challenging and require tremendous commitment to go on a weekly basis.” |
